Position Overview:
MITRE's Finance organization is looking for a Business Partner (BP) to act as a financial advisor for the Air & Space Forces (A&SF) organization.

In this role, you will be the primary source for day-to-day financial management and business decision support, playing a crucial part in the operational functions that enhance MITRE's value to our government sponsors.

The Finance BP for A&SF will also facilitate collaboration across the broader finance community to support MITRE's business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


The Finance Business Partner will serve as the trusted advisor and mini-CFO for a specific customer organization, representing Finance to that customer.

You will lead Finance functions that support the organization, maintaining awareness of issues related to program finance, invoicing, operations, and contracts.

Demonstrating the ability to resolve issues comprehensively, you will collaborate across functional teams.


As a Finance BP, you are expected to establish a reputation as the chief problem solver for your customer, assisting them in navigating complex issues within the Finance organization or center-level operations.


Building and maintaining positive relationships with customer stakeholders is essential, prioritizing favorable financial outcomes for both the customer and MITRE.

The Finance BP must ensure robust financial controls and adherence to MITRE Finance policies within the customer organization.


Working with the customer, you will drive long-term planning, aligning financial resources to support desired outcomes.

For significant investments, you will guide business case development, ensuring financial sustainability across various scenarios.


The Finance BP will provide a framework and data for forecasting and target setting, ensuring the customer has a realistic and accurate forecast based on demand signals.

Additionally, you will engage the customer in understanding the current landscape of their awarded work while effectively managing processes and policies for completeness and consistency.

Finance BPs will collaborate with customers to develop annual indirect budgets aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.


Regular and recurring management reporting and analysis will be part of your responsibilities, including key monthly artifacts such as business reviews.

You will analyze and diagnose business drivers and variances to budget using various financial systems.


Basic Qualifications:


- 5+ years of finance and/or accounting experience within the US Government (Federal) practice of a professional services firm with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with an MBA.
- A passion for learning and applying creative problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and a resourceful self-starter who follows through on commitments.
- A mindset of continuous improvement with the ability to drive change.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills.
- A consensus builder who promotes ideas and gains buy-in on new approaches.
- A flexible team player capable of working in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high-quality output.
- US Citizenship required.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Experience with Deltek Cost Point, Tableau, and/or Cognos Analytics is preferred.
