Job Summary

We're seeking a dynamic HR Business Partner to join our team in Chicago, IL. As an HR Business Partner, you'll play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You'll work closely with leadership to attract, develop, and retain top talent in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Human Resource representative for approximately 500 team members.
  • Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of the departments and the business as a whole to build effective and productive working relationships with team members and leaders.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to drive business results.
  • Develop, communicate, and administer employment-related policies and practices, including unemployment.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders regarding team member matters (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manage various cross-functional HR projects that support human development initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the recruiting process with business leaders to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
  • Partner closely with leadership to assist with business growth and change, evaluating evolving business environments and recommending practices to address challenges.
  • Administer the performance review process, reviewing changes in wages and salaries for conformance to S&C's standards, company-wide consistency, and market pressures.
  • Develop and implement human capital strategies to support a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Issue periodic reports on meeting service goals on time and within budget.
  • Assist leadership with job architecture updates as needed.
  • May provide coaching for 360 assessments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. Graduate-level degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in identifying potential employment law issues such as EEO, ADA, GINA, FMLA, OFCCP compliance, etc.
  • Experience in conducting investigations into team member relations issues, documenting findings, and recommending resolutions.
  • Demonstrated above-average verbal and written communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations on employment topics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, a plus.
  • Position will become hybrid after a minimum of 6 months onsite.
