Position Overview

The City of Long Beach is seeking a dedicated and skilled Grants Administration Officer to join our dynamic team within the Public Works Department. This role is pivotal in overseeing the management and coordination of grant opportunities across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and assessment of grant opportunities from Federal, State, and local agencies.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to prioritize grant applications that align with community needs.
  • Manage complex grant application processes, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison with external funding agencies to facilitate effective communication and partnership.
  • Implement best practices for grant management, including tracking and reporting on fund utilization.
  • Supervise a team of grant writers and analysts, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Coordinate the Elevate 28 Infrastructure Investment Plan, ensuring accurate tracking of financial data.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of relevant experience in grant management or administration, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a knack for building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and preparing comprehensive reports.
