Position Summary
WSH Management, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Resident Manager for a 194-unit affordable housing community located in Long Beach, CA. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work each week.
What We Provide:
- Competitive pay rate of $30 to $32 per hour, based on experience.
- Mandatory on-site living arrangement – includes a 2-bedroom apartment.

Key Responsibilities
- Understand and achieve financial objectives while managing the property in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain precise records of all community transactions and ensure timely reporting (e.g., rent rolls, delinquency reports, move-in/move-out documentation).
- Maximize occupancy rates and minimize lost rent.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient operations within company guidelines.
- Possess a solid understanding of California landlord/tenant laws and standard practices.
- Utilize effective techniques to recruit, train, and onboard new staff members.
- Enhance staff performance through continuous training and mentorship.
- Oversee community aesthetics and ensure timely completion of necessary repairs through regular inspections.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English and effective communication skills.
- Hold a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance, as driving may be required for company-related tasks.
- Participate in training sessions in Southern California to stay compliant with new projects and regulations.
- Be available for evening and weekend on-call duties as required.
Qualifications
While we provide on-the-job training, we prefer candidates with the following experience:
- A minimum of 2 years as an on-site Resident Manager; or 3 years in a supervisory role within a customer service environment with relevant certifications; or 2 years as an Assistant Manager in a large community (100+ units) with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Experience in affordable housing and lease-up processes.
- Familiarity with property management software.
- Supervisory experience is essential.
- A High School Diploma is required; a college degree is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and sales skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and property management software.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Background and drug screening will be conducted (a prior conviction may not disqualify you from employment).
