Position Overview
The City of Long Beach is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Grants Administration Officer within the Grants Administration Division of the Business Operations Bureau. This pivotal position is responsible for overseeing the internal coordination of grants across the department, assessing grant opportunities, and leading complex application processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue Federal, State, County, and other agency grant opportunities.
- Collaborate with department leadership to determine grant pursuit strategies.
- Manage the most critical and complex grant application efforts.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies to coordinate funding sources.
- Maintain best practices for applying, securing, and tracking grant funds.
- Oversee the management of the Elevate '28 Infrastructure Investment Plan, ensuring accurate tracking of funds.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership qualities, possess excellent project management skills, and have a proven track record in grant management. They will be adept at navigating complex political environments and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least three years of progressively responsible experience in managing publicly funded projects or programs, including one year in a supervisory role. A valid California Class C Driver License is required.
