Position Summary

The Electrical Services Operations Leader will oversee the service division at All Tech Electric. This position is focused on managing client-oriented and smaller-scale electrical initiatives, ensuring that all projects are executed effectively and adhere to quality benchmarks. The leader will supervise all facets of service operations and special projects, including client engagement, project oversight, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily functions of the service division, ensuring effective project delivery from start to finish.
  • Engage with clients to ascertain their requirements, draft proposals, and guarantee satisfaction with project results.
  • Conduct outreach to potential clients to cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and invoicing processes to ensure precision and punctuality.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide department personnel, promoting a cooperative team atmosphere.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for departmental expansion, process enhancement, and improved operational efficiency.
  • Manage the financial components of the service division, including budget formulation and financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality regulations.
  • Maintain the service fleet in optimal condition, ensuring it is well-stocked and organized to meet operational needs.
  • Coordinate logistics, including the allocation and deployment of staff and resources to maximize efficiency.
  • Evaluate team performance, providing training and development opportunities as necessary.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues to uphold high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Enforce compliance with legal and company standards, ensuring all practices meet regulatory requirements.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies for project bids.
  • Prepare comprehensive and clear estimates and proposals for clients, detailing project scope, timelines, and costs.
  • Establish and maintain job cost control, with monthly reporting.
  • Complete job setup, including entering project budgets into accounting systems.
  • Analyze plans and specifications for accurate interpretation of construction documents.
  • Develop submittals/shop drawings, manage material procurement, and address supply chain challenges.
  • Plan work schedules, project staffing needs, and manage quality assurance/control on projects.
  • Handle subcontracts, purchase orders, and review subcontractor payments.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, project timelines, and cost management.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors, clients, and trade partners.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop field team members while effectively managing the overall team.
  • Act as a liaison for communication between the company and employees.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of all assigned personnel, recommending and implementing personnel actions as necessary.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with staff and management as required.
  • Interview, select, train, assign, monitor, and review the activities of all assigned personnel.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise team members and contractors, encouraging accountability for their assigned work.
  • Ensure and oversee work quality.
  • Address employee grievances and emergencies; maintain positive employee relations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in preparing take-offs and estimates.
  • Background in electrical service and/or special projects.
  • Advanced skills in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • OSHA-30 certification (or willingness to obtain within six months of hire).
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 25%.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Some field experience in electrical installation preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate objectives, estimating strategies, and construction contracts.
  • Outstanding technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Effective scheduling and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and foster cohesive work teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction estimating software programs and Bluebeam.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and reference verification.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficient in business English, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work extended hours and varied schedules as needed, including overtime and weekends.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • 2+ years of education in construction technology, electrical engineering, or construction science (or equivalent training/experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical construction, including project management and estimating.
  • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Maintain clean driving, drug screening, and background records.
