Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Operations Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of critical infrastructure systems within our facilities. This role involves ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems essential for uninterrupted operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) functions related to critical facilities maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with fire and life safety regulations.
- Oversee mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
- Maintain electrical systems such as lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, and primary switch gears.
- Conduct plumbing installations and repairs, including piping, valves, filters, and hot water systems.
- Analyze system operations to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Adjust and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning systems, as well as boilers and water heaters.
- Perform electrical work including wiring for single and three-phase motors and installing motor controls.
- Collaborate with other technicians to support major repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and maintain critical equipment including UPS systems, generators, and chillers.
- Document operational readings and report any malfunctions promptly.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Supervise contractor activities within the facility.
- Keep accurate records of engineering logs and operational data.
- Provide training and guidance to contractors regarding critical facility operations.
- Adhere to emergency procedures and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with established engineering guidelines and processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in data center or critical facility operations, particularly with UPS systems and emergency generators.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Preferred: Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent.
- Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs or Licensed Journeyman Electrician with knowledge of Medium Voltage systems is desirable.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Must be a member in good standing with the relevant union.
