The Engineering Operations Leader is responsible for strategizing, organizing, directing, and overseeing the delivery of services in engineering, process innovation, and automation.

This role encompasses (but is not limited to) the design, implementation, and support of both new and existing engineering and automation methodologies, including facilities and equipment.


Key Responsibilities:


In collaboration with management and team leaders, formulates both short- and long-term objectives and strategies for the designated areas.

Recruits, mentors, assesses, and, when necessary, takes disciplinary actions regarding team members or makes authoritative recommendations in such matters. Develops tailored orientation and training programs for personnel in the area. Sets benchmarks for effective job performance and evaluates team members based on these criteria. Delegates these responsibilities to supervisory staff as appropriate.

Accountable for establishing and maintaining an efficient organization for the designated areas, which includes a) streamlined workflow patterns; b) defined performance metrics; c) clear delineation of roles and responsibilities; d) adequate staffing levels; e) appropriate oversight; and f) systems for timely communication of relevant information.

Responsible for delivering services in engineering and automation, including (but not limited to); the design and implementation of new engineering and automation processes, the development and execution of new product introduction protocols, the adoption of advanced automated quality assurance systems, the establishment of client/product implementation support systems, and customer service enhancements.

Within Engineering and Automation Operations, collaborates with New Product Development to support new product innovation and process enhancements.

Participates in committees and initiatives aimed at improving Repair and Logistics Information systems and reporting mechanisms.
Monitors and drives the profitability of assigned products.
Acts as a liaison with account management, addressing any operational, system, client, and product-related issues that may arise.

Creates and/or modifies processes to facilitate the onboarding and servicing of new accounts and products, while also enhancing existing processes when feasible and cost-effective.

Engages in committees and programs focused on safety, fire prevention, disaster recovery, and similar initiatives. Ensures the formulation of specific plans for inclusion in these programs.

Serves as a liaison with other organizational units; establishes and maintains the collaborative relationships necessary to foster cooperation and effectively integrate area services into the company's overall operational framework.

Receives and investigates all complaints related to his or her areas of responsibility and personnel; assesses the validity of such complaints and, if necessary, takes corrective or disciplinary action and/or prepares responses.

Stays informed of advancements in the field(s) by pursuing ongoing professional development, participating in industry organizations, engaging with peers, and reviewing relevant literature.

Incorporates advancements when practical and cost-effective.

Oversees the preparation of records, as well as recurring and special reports and analyses for designated areas, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery.

Reviews and interprets these documents to evaluate the extent to which objectives are being met. Initiates corrective actions as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience managing complex engineering, automation, software, electronics, product development, and testing operations.

Highly skilled engineering and automation leader with extensive strategic and tactical experience, results-oriented, high energy, and embraces effective change.

Knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures, area-specific policies and procedures, manufacturing, automation, electronics, systems integration, life cycle modeling, new product introduction, process development and deployment, leveraging Lean / Six Sigma tools, project and resource planning, and systems implementation.

Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly analytical with strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in an engineering discipline or MBA preferred.
Previous experience in automation.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing or logistics.
Six Sigma Black Belt.
