Job Overview

As a Senior Financial Accountant at PRIMUS METALS INC, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Reconciling account balances and bank statements while maintaining the general ledger.
  • Preparing timely and accurate monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP principles.
  • Analyzing financial data to summarize the organization's financial status.
  • Verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling key accounts.
  • Identifying errors and recommending improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contributing to departmental goal-setting processes.
  • Supporting internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Reviewing invoices against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
  • Investigating payment issues raised by vendors or purchasing agents.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of vouchers, invoices, checks, and account statements.
  • Monitoring accounts payable to ensure timely payments and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Entering data into the financial processing system according to company procedures.
  • Assisting employees, vendors, and clients with inquiries related to accounts and services.
  • Managing vendor payments by verifying invoices and preparing payments.
  • Ensuring credit memos are received for overpayments and returns.
  • Verifying and approving expense reports for payment.
  • Processing electronic transfers and payments.
  • Updating vendor information in the system.
  • Distributing invoices to customers via online portals or email.
  • Recording customer payments and managing accounts receivable.
  • Assisting with accounts payable, payroll, billing, and collections as needed.
  • Maintaining relationships with financial institutions and managing debt obligations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Sales & Use Tax regulations.
  • Focusing on payroll accounting and related reporting.
  • Facilitating time card collection in the ERP system.
  • Leading the transition to time card reporting in the payroll system.
  • Reconciling payroll reports and allocating payroll expenses to projects.
  • Providing management reporting on payroll expenses and headcount.
  • Participating in audits, management reporting, and tax filings.
  • Resolving audit findings and compliance issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for departmental improvements and efficiencies.
  • Cross-training to support team members during absences.
  • Performing additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting and a minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant software applications.
  • Experience with Global Shop ERP and Paylocity.
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the US.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience.
