The Manager of Financial Reporting plays a crucial role in the preparation of quarterly financial disclosures and submissions for external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to SEC and GAAP reporting standards.

This position also involves the regular updating and execution of the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) models on a monthly basis.

In addition, the Manager of Financial Reporting collaborates with independent reviewers, auditors, validators, and regulatory bodies, coordinating with Model Development, Credit Administration, Accounting, and external partners to efficiently gather the necessary data for generating CECL estimates across various models.

Furthermore, this role includes conducting accounting policy research as needed and overseeing lease accounting, goodwill impairment evaluations, and other accounting-related responsibilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly earnings releases and financial statements, including Form 10Q or 10K, in line with established timelines.
  • Ensure that reports and filings comply with applicable regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines.
  • Execute CECL models, incorporating macroeconomic scenarios.
  • Reconcile various data inputs related to CECL.
  • Apply qualitative factors to the outputs of CECL models.
  • Summarize and present CECL results to senior management and external auditors/regulators.
  • Prepare CECL-related disclosures for the 10Q, 10K, and Call Report.
  • Conduct accounting policy research as necessary.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for retirement plans.
  • Assist in various month-end closing activities, including lease accounting, goodwill assessments, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve specific account discrepancies.
  • Generate various reports for both internal and external use.
  • Identify risks and implement controls to mitigate them.
  • Recommend enhancements to existing procedures.
  • Optimize the use of available technology tools.
  • Identify and address compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance across subsidiaries, affiliates, and third-party vendors, maintaining document and data integrity.
  • Manage personal workload and workflow effectively.
  • Mentor, train, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Communicate guidance within the business unit and with management.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Suggest improvements to customer service processes.
  • Ensure comprehensive document and data integrity.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Safety and Health Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for maintaining safety and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Actively support employee involvement in safety programs by ensuring proper reporting of safety issues and timely documentation of accidents.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
Master's Degree or professional certification (CPA)

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or finance within a financial institution or public accounting.
