Position Summary:

The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) is looking for a dedicated Case Coordinator for the Refugee Resettlement Program. Under the guidance of the Resettlement Program Manager, the Case Coordinator will deliver comprehensive case management services to eligible clients, ensuring adherence to federal standards and requirements. This role is pivotal in fostering community integration, early employment opportunities, and promoting self-sufficiency among clients. Our mission is to dismantle barriers with empathy, compassion, and empowerment while honoring human dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver case management services to refugees and displaced individuals, including pre-arrival arrangements, housing coordination, client education, and enrollment in essential services, all within program guidelines and timelines.
  • Conduct Cultural Orientation sessions for all adults in the caseload within a 90-day timeframe.
  • Facilitate timely requests for cash assistance in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and case management activities as per federal requirements.
  • Arrange transportation for newly arrived clients to initial appointments, ensuring compliance with child safety laws.
  • Support clients in engaging in activities that promote their self-sufficiency and independence.
  • Identify client needs and barriers, communicating follow-up actions to case managers and the Program Manager as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain case files in accordance with funder and Resettlement leadership guidelines, submitting required information promptly.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, with a schedule adjusted accordingly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with refugee populations or in community services.
  • Proficient in professional English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, training, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in social services or the non-profit sector.
  • Experience working with interpreters/translators for 2+ years.
  • Fluency in one of the languages spoken by clients, such as Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Pashto, or Arabic.
  • Basic knowledge of G-Suite and/or Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn an internal case management database.
  • Experience in a diverse, cross-cultural environment for 2+ years.
  • Physical requirements may include lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment:

Note: Employees are expected to reside within the designated geographic area to commute as required.
