Key Responsibilities
  • Client-Centered Support: Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate client-centered, trauma-informed support to ensure the self-sufficiency and integration of newcomers.
  • Reception Services: Assist in providing reception services to arriving refugees, including airport pick-up and initial orientation.
  • Service Planning: Collaborate with clients to create a service plan to address needs, remove barriers, and achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct regular needs assessments to identify and address gaps in services.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with community partners to ensure that program participants are linked to services and resources in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in client case files and online databases.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a Social Work or behavioral/human services field or two years of experience providing case management and/or social services.
  • Experience: Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers is highly preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in one of the key languages used by client populations is preferred (includes but is not limited to: Spanish, Arabic, Dari, French, Swahili).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot, and follow projects through with attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building.
