Job Summary:

The Executive Director of Operations will oversee the strategic alignment and operational continuity within the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Development. This role is pivotal in fostering an environment that supports innovation and the commercialization of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the transition from traditional technology commercialization methods to a cohesive operational framework, ensuring staff are equipped for operational excellence.
  • Establish and manage internal systems for processing, tracking, and retrieving all operational documents, including contracts and compliance materials.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including managing requests for proposals and grant applications.
  • Develop and maintain data management systems and dashboards for business intelligence and reporting.
  • Prepare budgets and financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of inventor royalties.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on human resources and operational needs.
  • Engage with students, faculty, and stakeholders through face-to-face programming on campus.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, JD) with a minimum of five years in an operations leadership role or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in academic program administration or leadership.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and partnership development.
  • Proven track record in outreach and engagement with external audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with industry and public sector partners.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong leadership capabilities to build high-performing teams.
  • In-depth understanding of higher education operations and funding.
  • Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.
