POSITION SUMMARY:

We are in search of a skilled cybersecurity operations officer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this prominent role, you will play a key part in articulating the DoD CIO's Digital Modernization and Fulcrum vision/strategy, along with its methodologies for achieving cyber objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare comprehensive briefings for senior executives to aid in their internal and external speaking engagements.
  • Draft targeted talking points and correspondence addressing specific DoD CIO issues and audiences.
  • Facilitate the implementation and operation of project management frameworks and governance processes for DoD CIO offices, particularly in Cybersecurity.
  • Develop project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to monitor and execute DoD CIO programs, ensuring alignment with established milestones.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and recommend enhancements or the adoption of existing project management and strategic frameworks.
  • Assist in coordinating governance processes and legislative reviews with various departments.
  • Participate in department-wide forums, identifying issues that require escalation to Senior level CIO leadership.
  • Monitor governance process issues, ensuring stakeholders are periodically informed about departmental progress towards decisions and directives.
  • Ensure all official correspondence adheres to DoD standards and requirements.
  • Create, track, and technically edit Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) packages.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory at the time of hire.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within DoD or federal agencies, encompassing both operational and administrative roles.
  • Prior experience in supporting cybersecurity, cyber policy, or cyber governance forums.
  • At least 3 years of experience at the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) level.
  • Familiarity with DoD correspondence standards.
  • Recent experience with correspondence and task management systems (CATMS).
  • Experience in a senior-level DoD front office environment.
