As the Financial Operations Manager for NVR, you will deliver financial and operational insights to the homebuilding sector. Your role will involve directly assisting the Division Manager in establishing, monitoring, and evaluating construction expenses and divisional profitability. Collaborating with the Production Manager and their team, you will oversee a robust cost management system to ensure that each home is constructed within financial parameters while suggesting enhancements to processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Division Manager in assessing and regulating construction expenses while optimizing profits for all homes within the division.
  • Oversee a cost management system that accurately tracks expenses and production discrepancies, facilitating precise forecasts of operational outcomes.
  • Collaborate with divisional, regional, and corporate colleagues to promote ongoing improvements in costs, profitability, processes, and systems, ensuring uniformity in costing practices across the organization.
  • Engage in negotiations and agreements with subcontractors to enhance value, quality, and delivery for NVR and the homebuyer.
  • Maintain and update pricing and cost data for all current and prospective communities.
  • Forecast expenses for new home designs and product offerings as part of the overall divisional business strategy.
  • Evaluate plans for standardizing components, options, and construction methodologies.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis with a proven focus on detail.
  • Ability to translate financial analysis into actionable operational recommendations and drive process enhancements.
  • Proficient in budgeting and negotiation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
  • Relevant experience in costing and analysis is preferred.
  • Experience with large manufacturing or real estate firms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with new home or commercial construction is preferred.
  • An MBA is a plus.
