Collaborating closely with the Production Manager and their team, you will oversee a robust cost management system to ensure that each home is constructed within financial parameters while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Division Manager in scrutinizing and regulating construction expenditures to optimize profitability across all homes in the Division.
- Oversee a comprehensive cost management system that accurately tracks costs and production variances, facilitating precise forecasts of operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with divisional, regional, and corporate colleagues to foster continuous improvements in costs, profitability, processes, and systems, ensuring uniformity in costing methodologies throughout the organization.
- Engage in negotiations and agreements with subcontractors to maximize value, quality, and delivery for NVR and its clients.
- Maintain and update pricing and cost data for all current and prospective communities.
- Estimate costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the Division's strategic business plan.
- Evaluate plans for standardizing components, options, and construction techniques.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, costing, planning, or economic analysis with a strong focus on detail.
- Ability to translate financial analyses into actionable operational recommendations that drive improvements.
- Proficient in budgeting and negotiation.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
- Experience in costing and analysis is preferred.
- Background in a large manufacturing or real estate firm is advantageous.
- Experience in new home or commercial construction is a plus.
- An MBA is preferred.
