As the Financial Cost Manager at NVR, you will leverage your financial acumen to support the homebuilding division in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Division Manager to assess and regulate construction expenses while enhancing profitability across all projects.

  • Implement and oversee a robust cost management system that accurately tracks expenses and production discrepancies, enabling precise forecasting of financial outcomes.
  • Engage with divisional, regional, and corporate colleagues to foster ongoing enhancements in cost efficiency, profitability, and operational processes, ensuring uniformity in costing practices throughout the organization.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors to optimize value, quality, and delivery for NVR and its clients.
  • Maintain and update pricing and cost data for all current and prospective communities.
  • Analyze costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the overall business strategy for the Division.
  • Evaluate plans for standardizing components, options, and construction methodologies.

Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost management, planning, or economic analysis with a strong focus on detail.
  • The ability to translate financial insights into actionable operational strategies and drive process enhancements.
  • Expertise in budgeting and negotiation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
  • Relevant experience in costing and analysis is preferred.
  • Experience in a large manufacturing or real estate environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with new home or commercial construction is preferred.
  • An MBA is a plus.
