Position Overview
As the Financial Operations Manager at NVR, you will play a crucial role in delivering financial and operational insights to our homebuilding division.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Division Manager to establish, monitor, and evaluate construction costs and overall divisional profitability.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Supporting the Division Manager in the assessment and management of construction expenses to enhance profitability across all homes.
  • Overseeing a comprehensive cost management system that accurately tracks expenses and production variances, enabling precise forecasting of operational outcomes.
  • Partnering with divisional, regional, and corporate colleagues to foster ongoing improvements in cost efficiency, profitability, processes, and systems, ensuring uniformity in costing practices throughout the organization.
  • Negotiating agreements with subcontractors to optimize value, quality, and delivery for NVR and its clients.
  • Updating and maintaining pricing and cost data for all current and prospective communities.
  • Estimating costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the Division's strategic business plan.
  • Reviewing plans for the standardization of components, options, and construction methodologies.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, cost management, planning, or economic analysis with a strong focus on detail.
  • The ability to translate financial insights into actionable operational recommendations that drive process enhancements.
  • Expertise in budgeting and negotiation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required.
  • Relevant experience in costing and analysis is preferred.
  • Experience within a large manufacturing or real estate organization is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with new home or commercial construction is a plus.
  • An MBA is preferred.
