Internship Overview:

Interns within the Events & Membership division of our organization will be based in our office. Applicants should either currently reside in the area or be prepared for relocation prior to the internship commencement.

Compensation: $2825/month

Duration: 9-12 months

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC Midwest) is dedicated to fostering and facilitating bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States. Internship Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will assist with comprehensive event management tasks, including:
  • Coordinating logistical arrangements for various events, such as developing event timelines, researching venue options, and creating event materials.
  • Effectively promoting events through diverse communication channels to attract attendees and secure sponsors.
  • Regularly updating and publishing events on the organization’s website.
  • Conducting thorough post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintaining accurate communication records for all members and external partners.
  • Engaging in activities aimed at retaining and attracting new members.
  • Designing event invitations, brochures, and programs.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience or a strong interest in event planning and coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a high level of accountability.
  • Availability to attend events, including some outside of regular business hours.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with social media communications and content publishing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Constant Contact.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to work within a team.
