Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret intricate specifications and industry regulations
  • Work in a dual capacity or be assigned to specialized Navy or Nuclear fabrication initiatives.
  • Maintain professional written correspondence with applications, project engineering, and/or clients to clarify specifications
  • Identify and submit necessary documentation for client assessment.
  • Determine welding requirements and new specifications as necessary.
  • Oversee the development of welding procedures, material selection, and required testing.
  • Draft program procedures and supplementary documents as needed.
  • Create weld maps as necessary.
  • Engage with shop personnel, QA/QC inspectors, and engineering teams daily regarding operational requirements.
  • Participate in non-conformance evaluations, corrective measures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in client meetings.
  • Support efforts to ensure products are manufactured in compliance with client, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Propose corrective actions or enhancements to meet client satisfaction.
  • Provide program assistance to manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and applications engineering.
  • Conduct source inspections or vendor assessments as needed.
  • Adhere to quality management system protocols.
  • Recommend machinery and equipment with a cost-benefit analysis.
  • Lead or contribute to assigned projects.

Performance Metrics:

  • Effective utilization of resources to deliver project documentation as required
  • Develop appropriate welding documentation from drawings, specifications, manuals, and codes to ensure compliance with Code, Contractual, and Jurisdictional requirements.
  • Investigate special welding instructions to meet Quality Assurance standards.
  • Consistently fulfill client quality expectations and requirements.
  • Identify welding specifications and new requirements as necessary.
  • Facilitate the development of welding procedures and determine necessary testing.
  • Draft program procedures and addenda as required to fulfill order specifications.
