This role entails direct responsibility for scheduling the necessary end products and associated components. The individual will collaborate closely with various departments, including purchasing, sales, production, quality assurance, and distribution. Availability for on-call duties during evenings and weekends may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

The following tasks are fundamental to this position. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Engage daily with Customer Service to address imminent product shortages effectively. (1 to 2 week outlook)
  • Work alongside Forecasting to integrate medium-term demand fluctuations into the Master Schedule. (3 to 8 week outlook)
  • Formulate long-term pre-build strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Oversee safety stock levels and replenishment goals for individual stock keeping units (SKUs).
  • Manage the shop calendar efficiently.
  • Compile weekly reports on Inventory Changes and Demand versus Plan Valuation, presenting findings accordingly.
  • Generate monthly reports on Finished Goods and Materials Inventory Changes for the sales and operations (S & OP) meetings.
  • Assemble Unique Materials Inventory Reports for Sales as required.
  • Conduct Build versus Scrap Analysis Reports on surplus and obsolete materials and products.
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping practices established by Suncast Corporation.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty competently. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • An Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in production planning is essential.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical guidelines, or regulatory documents. Ability to respond to inquiries from management, engineers, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts and the ability to apply these concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to real-world scenarios.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate effectively to achieve desired outcomes. Ability to interpret complex technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms.
  • Expertise in computer applications is mandatory. The candidate must be adept at utilizing advanced features of spreadsheets and databases for data analysis and be willing to learn AS400 query methods. Advanced knowledge of MRP systems is required.

However, as Suncast Corporation is a manufacturing entity, it will be necessary to access the manufacturing area to complete certain tasks. Typically, office environments are climate-controlled with moderate noise levels, while manufacturing areas may experience seasonal temperature and humidity variations. Noise levels in manufacturing settings are generally moderate, and safety equipment is mandatory when in those areas.
