This role requires the individual to personally oversee the scheduling of necessary end products and associated components. Collaboration with various departments, including purchasing, sales, production, quality assurance, and distribution, is crucial. Availability for on-call duties during evenings and weekends may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage daily with Customer Service to address imminent product shortages effectively. (1 to 2 week outlook)
  • Work alongside Forecasting to integrate medium-term demand fluctuations into the Master Schedule. (3 to 8 week outlook)
  • Formulate long-term pre-build strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage safety stock levels and replenishment goals for individual stock keeping units (SKUs).
  • Oversee the shop calendar to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Generate weekly reports on Inventory Changes and Demand versus Plan Valuation, presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Compile monthly Finished Goods and Materials Inventory Change Reports for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.
  • Assemble Unique Materials Inventory Reports for Sales as needed.
  • Conduct Build versus Scrap Analysis Reports to evaluate excess and obsolete materials and products.
  • Adhere to and promote all safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping practices established by Suncast Corporation.

  • Associate's Degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in production planning is necessary.
  • Capability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to inquiries from managers, engineers, and colleagues.
  • Strong mathematical skills are essential, including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions, with effective communication skills to implement these conclusions for desired outcomes. Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
  • This position necessitates advanced computer literacy. The employee must be adept at utilizing advanced spreadsheet and database features for data analysis and capable of learning AS400 query methods. Extensive knowledge of MRP systems is required.

While executing these duties, the employee will primarily operate in an office setting. However, as Suncast Corporation is a manufacturing entity, it will be necessary to enter the manufacturing area to complete certain tasks. Manufacturing areas may experience seasonal variations in temperature and humidity, with a generally moderate noise level. Safety equipment is mandatory when in manufacturing zones.
