Position: Sales Account Manager

Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Sales

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, potential clients, and emerging markets that align with Lahlouh's ideal client profile. This role involves qualifying new prospects, nurturing client relationships, and managing existing accounts. The position requires both strategic and transactional selling skills.

Required Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end commercial print workflow, from concept to distribution.
  • Technical expertise in graphic design, prepress, offset printing, digital printing, bindery, finishing, mailing, assembly, and fulfillment/warehousing services.
  • Proven skills in new business development, including qualifying leads, cold calling, networking, and referral selling.
  • Strong account management abilities, including discovery, objection handling, pricing strategies, closing techniques, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations.
  • Conduct plant tours for prospective clients.
  • Review print estimates and calculate pricing, ensuring a solid understanding of budgeted hourly rates, equipment standards, job specifications, and markup calculations.
  • Prepare and present quote letters and proposals to clients.
  • Coordinate pre-production meetings for complex or non-standard projects.
  • Ensure accurate job specifications are communicated to the Project Manager.
  • Engage in brainstorming sessions and review job timelines with scheduling for projects with critical deadlines.
  • Review digital files, preflight reports, and proofs before submission to clients.
  • Manage the delivery of proofs, samples, and proposals to clients and follow up on their feedback.
  • Adhere to industry-standard compliance procedures (ISO, FSC, SOC-2, etc.).
  • Conduct press checks, bindery checks, and audits as necessary.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to address inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
  • Oversee large Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Handle sales administrative tasks, including processing expense reports, facilitating client credit applications, reviewing contracts, providing sales forecasts, and addressing outstanding invoices.

General Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of commission-based selling experience in the commercial print industry.
  • A college degree (BA/BS) is preferred, or extensive industry experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A personal vehicle is required for client meetings and site visits.
  • Client entertainment activities are part of the role.

Compensation:

  • Annual salary range of $60,000-$200,000 (100% commission after the first year guarantee, with average commissions of 7-9%).
