Position: Test Engineer II

Role Summary: The Test Engineer II will collaborate with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), specifically within the Code 15 Sensors and SONAR department. This role involves the development, execution, and assessment of the quality and performance of provided hardware and software. Candidates must possess excellent communication and documentation abilities, a keen eye for detail, and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with NUWC engineers to create testing protocols and produce comprehensive reports detailing all phases of the testing process.
  • Implement test procedures as outlined and relay feedback to all relevant parties.
  • Engage with government sponsors regarding any inconsistencies observed during testing.
  • Assist lab technicians during the setup of land-based testing systems, leveraging subject matter expertise in system cabling, including inventory management of all equipment and spare parts.
  • Maintain the program milestone schedule to ensure adherence to project timelines, communicating any adjustments to all stakeholders.
  • Generate monthly reports for clients and corporate stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Testing and Evaluation functions within the Department of Defense framework.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Strong organizational capabilities for managing extensive information, ensuring proper handling of data according to current classifications, and distributing it to stakeholders as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience with AN/SQQ-89 SONAR systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A SECRET clearance is required.

Work Environment: The position is based at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT).
