Position: Test Engineer II

Role Overview: The Test Engineer II will collaborate with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), specifically within the Code 15 Sensors and SONAR department. This role involves developing, executing, and assessing the quality and effectiveness of delivered hardware and software. The position demands strong communication and documentation abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and adept problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with NUWC engineers to formulate test procedures and generate comprehensive reports documenting all phases of the testing process.
  • Implement test procedures as specified and provide constructive feedback to all stakeholders involved.
  • Engage with government sponsors regarding any discrepancies observed during testing.
  • Assist lab technicians during the setup of land-based test systems, leveraging subject matter expertise in system cabling, including inventory management of all equipment and spare parts.
  • Maintain the program milestone schedule to ensure adherence to established timelines, communicating any changes to all stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly reports for clients and corporate stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Testing and Evaluation functions within the Department of Defense framework.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, facilitating collaboration across a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills, adept at managing substantial amounts of information while ensuring proper handling and distribution based on current markings.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Prior experience with AN/SQQ-89 SONAR systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Possession of a SECRET clearance is required.
