Position: Test Engineer II

Role Overview: The Test Engineer II will collaborate with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), specifically within the Code 15 Sensors and SONAR department. This role involves developing, executing, and assessing the quality and effectiveness of hardware and software deliverables. The position necessitates strong communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and adept problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with NUWC engineers to formulate test protocols and produce comprehensive reports documenting all phases of testing.
  • Implement test procedures as outlined and provide constructive feedback to all relevant parties.
  • Engage with government sponsors regarding any discrepancies observed during testing.
  • Assist lab technicians during the setup of land-based testing systems, utilizing subject matter expertise in system cabling, including inventory management of all equipment and spare parts.
  • Maintain the program milestone schedule to ensure adherence to established timelines, communicating any changes to all stakeholders.
  • Generate monthly reports for clients and corporate stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in Testing and Evaluation functions within the Department of Defense framework.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for effective collaboration across a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Strong organizational capabilities for managing extensive information, ensuring proper handling of data according to current classifications and distribution to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with AN/SQQ-89 SONAR systems is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Possession of a SECRET clearance is required.

Work Location: Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT), RI

A Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is mandatory at the time of hire.
