Role Summary:

KMS Solutions is in search of a dedicated professional to become part of a dynamic team of engineers and technicians. This team provides engineering and technical support to the Ranges, Engineering, and Analysis Department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). The team is tasked with ensuring systems safety, conducting environmental qualification testing, and maintaining range operations in support of undersea warfare systems. Candidates with relevant educational backgrounds and experience in engineering disciplines are highly sought after.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) which encompasses Shock, Vibration, Temperature, Humidity, Inclination, Pressure, Airborne and Structure-borne noise, and Enclosure assessments.
  • Analyze EQT system specifications and requirements.
  • Lead the planning, execution, instrumentation, and data collection for tests.
  • Conduct processing and analysis of acoustic, vibration, and shock data.
  • Review and create test documentation, including plans, procedures, and reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in generating support for testing and integration processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for engaging with all levels of the customer organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with undersea warfare systems and/or Navy training range systems.
  • Specific experience with NUWC Division Newport.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to customers and company leadership.
  • Adept at problem-solving and working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

Work Schedule:

The standard workday consists of eight hours, with some flexibility allowed upon supervisor approval. Employees are expected to be available during core hours.

Remote Work:

This position permits up to 20% telework each week after an initial period of employment.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be necessary.
