Company Overview: McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer with over 20 years of extensive experience, particularly in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Launch and Recovery through Torpedo Tube systems. This role is crucial in supporting ongoing systems engineering initiatives within the NUWC Division, Newport, which utilizes a blend of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and various other technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive system analyses and design studies.
  • Oversee system testing, data collection, and analysis.
  • Develop, review, and update testing procedures.
  • Review technical documentation to ensure compliance with standards.

The candidate will leverage their expertise in AUV and Launch and Recovery system engineering, integrating technical, cost, and safety considerations into product definitions to align with Department of Defense requirements. They will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting and developing requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborating with project team members to define and implement engineering solutions that meet mission objectives.
  • Addressing programmatic and technical challenges that may impact cost, schedule, and performance.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline or a related field.
  • Experience in coordinating, planning, and executing all AUV Systems projects, including internal reviews and customer interactions.
  • Proven experience in US Torpedo Tube Launch & Recovery projects from inception through execution.
  • Strong work ethic and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Capability to devise solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in submarine system or subsystem engineering and testing is advantageous.
