Company Overview: McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer with over 20 years of expertise, particularly in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Launch and Recovery through Torpedo Tubes. This role is essential for ongoing systems engineering efforts within the NUWC Division, Newport, which integrates various technologies including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive system analyses and design studies.
- Oversee system testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Develop, review, and update testing procedures and technical documentation.
- Apply knowledge of AUV and Launch and Recovery system engineering to integrate technical, cost, and safety considerations in compliance with Department of Defense standards.
- Interpret and develop requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to define and implement engineering solutions that meet mission objectives.
- Assist in resolving programmatic and technical challenges affecting cost, schedule, and performance.
- Establish and maintain processes, methods, and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in coordinating, planning, and executing AUV projects, including both hardware and software development.
- Proven track record in US Torpedo Tube Launch & Recovery projects from initiation through execution.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
- Capability to devise solutions for complex technical issues.
- Must be eligible to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in submarine system or subsystem engineering and testing is advantageous.
