About the Role:
The Manager of Special Projects - Accounting is a pivotal position in Astrana's growth strategy, focusing on leading M&A integration and execution efforts while supporting various operational initiatives. This role is essential for the successful planning and implementation of activities within the Accounting department, aimed at facilitating market entry and expansion.
This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer and collaborates closely with the Group Vice President of PMO and Integrations. The Project Manager will oversee multiple growth and operational initiatives, including market expansion, payor contract transitions, new service line rollouts, and compliance with government regulations. Collaboration with market leaders, Contracting, Credentialing, Compliance, Configuration, and Integration teams is crucial to achieving project objectives. Additionally, the role involves documenting processes for future efficiency and aligning improvement strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Accounting leadership to formulate and execute project plans tailored to departmental needs, ensuring operational efficiency and project success.
- Engage with the Integration team to assess the special project pipeline and coordinate activities to meet project deliverables on schedule.
- Facilitate cross-functional team coordination to ensure seamless execution of all operational and project components.
- Play a vital role in the onboarding process for growth initiatives.
- Develop accounting artifacts, manage project timelines, and track updates related to accounting.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders through written and verbal communication.
- Create tailored presentations for various audiences to report on project progress.
- Oversee the daily execution of Contract management, ensuring adherence to schedules and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor projects that are off-track and coordinate efforts to realign them with operational goals.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, collaborating with stakeholders to devise solutions and action plans.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for department-specific inquiries regarding ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Develop templates for contracts necessary for operations and future growth.
- Establish, track, and evaluate KPIs to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Continuously assess integration processes and recommend improvements to leadership.
- Initiate and manage process improvement projects specific to the Accounting department.
- Oversee any special or ad-hoc projects related to the Accounting department or strategic initiatives.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills, a process-oriented mindset, and self-motivation.
- Foster strong working relationships with executives and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Enhance the Astrana Health team and client experience through successful implementation projects, measured by team engagement and feedback.
- Ensure timely delivery of accounting-related tasks for market growth and special projects.
- Contribute positively to the work environment and culture at Astrana Health, as measured by team engagement and productivity.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or public health.
- Knowledge and experience in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in project management or healthcare operations.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently and communicate effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management Tools.
