POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Operations Manager is tasked with supervising and ensuring the efficient operation of the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and grounds. This role is vital in promoting the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents by maintaining a pristine operational environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the position summary, the following duties are crucial for effective performance in this role:
  • Organize and implement routine maintenance activities, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs to guarantee the facility's peak performance.
  • Establish and execute a preventative maintenance strategy to prolong the lifespan of equipment and systems.
  • Formulate and oversee the maintenance department's annual budget, managing procurement and ensuring cost-efficient operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the facility to detect potential maintenance requirements, safety issues, and compliance with regulations.
  • Create and implement emergency response procedures for facility-related incidents; be available for urgent maintenance situations.
  • Supervise the maintenance of the facility's exterior, including landscaping, parking lots, and pathways.
  • Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring sufficient stock levels.
  • Respond swiftly to maintenance requests and emergencies, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and financial expenditures.
  • Oversee external contractors and vendors engaged in maintenance projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated environment for residents and staff.
  • Aim to foster a safe, comfortable, and visually appealing environment for residents and staff.
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance personnel, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance assessments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position will have direct reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance are required.
  • Any relevant licenses, certifications, and credentials (First Aid/CPR Certified).
  • Special skills necessary to meet client needs as per regulatory standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance-related fields is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance and facility management with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
  • Willingness to handle on-call duties and respond to emergencies outside of standard business hours.
