Executive Culinary Assistant

As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will play a vital role in the success of Oncheonjip NYC. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, this individual will be responsible for assisting in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Korean culinary techniques and ingredients, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development of dishes.
- Prepare and cook high-quality food in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a Korean or Asian cuisine restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Korean culinary techniques and traditional dishes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
