About the Role:

The Culinary Operations Director at Grandma\u0027s Home will be responsible for managing all areas of the culinary operations with a business and financial mindset. This includes leading the Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Porters, providing goals and supporting growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed budget expectations set in partnership with the executive management team
  • Assist in all aspects of pre-opening of the restaurant as it relates to culinary
  • Create and develop all recipes with detailed documentation and for training
  • Manage recruitment of the culinary team
  • Ensure all kitchen areas are maintained in compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Increase productivity and foster positive inter-departmental communications
  • Continually innovate, refine, and update culinary programming to maintain standing as an industry leader
  • Ensure all culinary team members are continually developed and trained to the highest standards
  • Strengthen the relationship between the team and our community
  • Ensure relevant knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Chinese cuisine
  • Previous roles as Sous Chef/Chef de Cuisine
  • Proficient knowledge of systems and processes in food cost management
  • Strong financial knowledge
  • Ability to lead and empower a team
  • Mandarin Chinese Fluency would be a plus although not a requirement
