Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson. As a key member of our culinary team, you will assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing meals, manage kitchen operations, and supervise kitchen staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory and supply chain management
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu items and ensure high-quality food production
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety regulations
- Excellent culinary skills and creativity
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team
