Position Overview

A vibrant new establishment is seeking a Sous Chef to enhance our culinary team.

We are in search of a dedicated individual who thrives on the complexities of kitchen management and is eager to contribute to a dynamic environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and innovative menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all menu items, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes.
  • Uphold kitchen cleanliness in line with health regulations.
  • Establish and maintain designated kitchen workstations.
  • Coordinate food production with service times to ensure optimal quality, temperature, and presentation.
  • Manage the use of kitchen supplies and equipment to reduce waste and prevent loss.
  • Follow safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Properly store food, labeling items with dates.
  • Notify management of any equipment repairs or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a tidy work area; clean and care for food preparation equipment.
  • Perform additional back-of-house tasks as directed by management.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef in a full-service dining environment. A passion for culinary arts is essential, with knowledge of Mexican cuisine being advantageous.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with contemporary cooking techniques.
  • Exhibit the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Efficiently address guest requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Produce substantial quantities of work while upholding quality standards.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs and pushing/pulling items up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Utilize culinary tools effectively and possess a keen sense of taste and smell.

Compensation Package: Includes base salary, vacation time, insurance reimbursement, and additional benefits, all of which are negotiable.
