The role of the Dishwasher/Porter is essential in ensuring a seamless flow of clean service ware, pots, and pans throughout the kitchen and dining area, while upholding a tidy and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with guests and colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Prepare and dismantle the dishwashing machine as needed.
  • Efficiently wash all tableware, silverware, pots, and pans.
  • Maintain cleanliness and dryness in the dishwashing area and stainless steel surfaces.
  • Oversee the dishwashing machine for optimal water temperatures and chemical levels.
  • Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned; rewash as necessary.
  • Properly store all clean dishes, glassware, silverware, and small wares throughout the establishment.
  • Regularly monitor and empty soiled linen, trash, and recycling bins to maintain kitchen cleanliness.
  • Uphold a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Keep floors clean and dry; routinely organize the walk-in, dry storage, and freezer areas.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including maintaining a valid Food Handler's Certification.
  • Follow all operational guidelines as directed by the Chef de Cuisine and management.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Clean and maintain all necessary equipment and utensils.
  • Report any equipment issues promptly to the supervisor.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts, dressed in the appropriate uniform.
  • Follow proper storage and rotation procedures, along with sanitation protocols.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and management in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Comply with management's instructions and suggestions.
  • Respond promptly to requests from other kitchen staff and assist with prep duties as required.
  • Assemble and dismantle workstations efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workstation throughout the shift.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in using knives and other necessary equipment.
  • Maintain a current Food Handler's Certification and adhere to proper sanitation practices.
