Every member of the BRC team plays a crucial role in our city, delivering essential services during times of crisis and need. Through our dedication to employee wellbeing and professional growth, BRC fosters an environment where staff can achieve their aspirations, make a meaningful impact on our clients, and develop both personally and professionally. PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

In August 2012, BRC launched its inaugural assessment center, serving as the initial point of contact for men entering the city shelter system. This facility, located in a newly renovated loft-style building, accommodates 200 beds in a dormitory-style setting and is funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services. BRC assesses each individual entering the program and connects them with the housing and services that best suit their needs. Additionally, in response to ongoing discussions with DHS and community leaders, BRC has dedicated one dorm (20 beds) to street homeless men from the local community, marking a significant commitment by the shelter system to address a critical local need.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

BRC prioritizes the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees. Staff members are eligible for health insurance and paid sick leave benefits immediately upon employment. Furthermore, full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  1. Competitive health and dental insurance plans, with options available for spouses, domestic partners, and dependents.
  2. A minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, and additional paid sick and personal time. A 403(b) pension plan with matching contributions from BRC.
