Position Title: Employment Support Specialist
Program: Transitional Living Services
Reports to: Program Director
Work Schedule: Full Time - 35 hours per week
Salary: $45,000 annually

Our Transitional Living Services program focuses on empowering young women seeking employment and stable housing.
Role Summary:
The Employment Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting clients in securing permanent employment and achieving independence. This position is crucial for supporting young women aged 18-25 in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The specialist will cultivate and maintain relationships with employers to understand their hiring needs, match clients with suitable job opportunities, and facilitate interviews, emphasizing the benefits of our employment services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and proactively reach out to potential employers to gather detailed information about job openings.
- Provide comprehensive job development services while nurturing employer relationships to generate job vacancies.
- Stay informed on labor market trends and economic data to identify and develop new job opportunities.
- Assist clients in customizing resumes and cover letters, enhance their soft skills, conduct mock interviews, and support them through the job application process.
- Offer individualized coaching and group workshops to improve job seekers' employment prospects.
- Maintain precise documentation of client progress and employer interactions, including resumes, interview notes, and feedback for reporting purposes.
- Assess client needs and record relevant data pertaining to job descriptions.
- Foster workplace skills and behaviors to ensure successful internships that align with employer expectations.
- Provide clients with information about job vacancies and related opportunities.
- Review job applications to ensure alignment with employer requirements.
- Match client skills and experiences with job specifications.
- Prepare monthly reports and necessary documentation.
- Maintain ongoing communication with referral sources and partner organizations.
- Participate in recruitment events and job fairs as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. with two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
- Strong counseling and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Capacity to engage effectively with staff, employers, and community organizations.
- Successful completion of fingerprinting and background checks is required.
