Position Summary:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Buyer with extensive experience in the manufacturing sector. This role emphasizes the procurement of essential materials and inventory management to support our operational needs. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of purchasing processes, strong negotiation capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Order Management:
    • Execute orders with suppliers for routine inventory items, ensuring timely procurement to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Guarantee that all orders are processed efficiently to support seamless manufacturing operations.
  • Inventory Oversight:
    • Address inventory requests from warehouse teams, ensuring sufficient stock to meet production demands.
    • Continuously monitor inventory levels, utilizing historical data to inform purchasing strategies and avoid excess or insufficient stock.
  • Supplier Engagement:
    • Establish and nurture robust relationships with suppliers to facilitate reliable and cost-effective procurement.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery logistics to secure advantageous agreements.
    • Follow up on orders to verify delivery timelines and ensure compliance with negotiated pricing, particularly for bulk purchases.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Examine past purchasing data to identify trends and leverage insights for current and future supplier negotiations.
    • Compile and maintain reports detailing purchasing activities, cost efficiencies, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborative Efforts:
    • Work in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager to obtain necessary approvals for orders and engage in the bidding process.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including warehouse, sales, and customer service, to align purchasing decisions with overall business objectives.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Develop and uphold manual processes as required, ensuring all purchasing activities are well-documented and adhere to company policies.
    • Utilize relevant software tools to track orders, manage supplier information, and generate insightful reports.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data management and report generation.
    • Effectively use communication tools to manage interactions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Buyer in manufacturing or a related field, with a focus on procuring parts and materials.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry with a solid understanding of procurement processes for routine stock items.
  • Familiarity with bulk purchasing and managing supplier relationships for high-volume orders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with CRM/ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Education:
    • Associate's degree in business or a related field is required.
