Aspire Nursing and Rehab of Washington is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of our establishment, which specializes in both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Manager holds the administrative authority and responsibility to ensure the physical premises and essential mechanical, electrical, and resident care equipment are maintained in optimal operating condition. This role includes managing inventory and ordering maintenance supplies, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents, preparing vacant rooms for incoming residents, and promptly addressing all repair requests. In collaboration with the Nursing Home Administrator, the manager will allocate resources efficiently to enhance service quality and continuously improve standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of the facility, which may involve painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, and other necessary tasks to ensure a quality living experience for our residents.
  • Respond to resident requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Possess knowledge of maintenance operations, including plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical work, and general carpentry skills.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance utilizing the TELs program.
  • Stay informed about state, local, and federal regulations related to nursing homes.
  • Participate in required training programs provided by the company.
  • Engage in in-service training for staff, covering topics such as MSDS protocols, OSHA regulations, and safety programs.
  • Implement an effective safety program, including monthly safety meetings.
  • Participate in various meetings, including Morning Meetings and QAPI sessions.
  • Complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Safeguard all company tools and equipment.
  • Perform any additional related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that the premises and grounds are well-maintained, providing a safe and appealing environment for residents.
  • Execute an established preventative maintenance program.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas needing repair.
  • Check daily for any repair requests.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance concerns raised by residents, family members, and staff.
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup for special events.
  • Ensure all systems, such as alarm and fire systems, are tested according to state, local, and federal guidelines.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors as needed, overseeing their performance and providing assistance when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of general maintenance experience.
  • Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • A genuine desire to work with older adults.
  • Basic knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, groundskeeping, commercial appliance repair, multi-meter usage, and familiarity with various hand and power tools used in facility maintenance and repair.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative while being open to supervision.
  • Exhibit personal neatness, dependability, honesty, congeniality, and flexibility.
