Position Overview: The Youth Housing Support Coordinator will play a crucial role in facilitating access to safe and stable housing for young individuals transitioning from juvenile rehabilitation facilities or those facing homelessness while under parole supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various committees and coalitions to oversee the statewide deployment of housing assistance funds aimed at addressing homelessness.
  • Engage with community resources to develop transitional housing initiatives that promote sustainable living environments.
  • Assist youth in navigating resources to secure employment or financial aid necessary for maintaining housing stability and fostering independence.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Establish and execute a comprehensive process for evaluating and approving eligible cases across the juvenile rehabilitation spectrum.
  • Ensure that the allocation of financial resources aligns with the established budgetary guidelines.
  • Negotiate and formalize contracts with community partners to enhance service delivery.
  • Implement and manage a data tracking system related to client interactions and outcomes.
  • Advise juvenile rehabilitation personnel on creating tailored prevention strategies and monitoring youth homelessness.
  • Develop and refine written materials for presentations, alongside compiling data and reports.
  • Conduct meetings with youth to assess their needs and assist in crafting a pathway to stable housing.
  • Participate in various meetings and travel as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, policy analysis, business, or a related discipline.
  • Two years of relevant experience in planning, policy analysis, and coordination with public and private entities, including fund allocation and contract negotiation.

Alternatively:

  • Four years of relevant experience with a focus on fund allocation and contract negotiation.
  • Three years of experience, including at least two years in fund allocation and contract negotiation, along with experience working with marginalized communities or those experiencing homelessness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing statewide projects with significant impact.
  • Knowledge of reentry principles for successful community reintegration.
  • Familiarity with Rapid Rehousing Programs and evidence-based methods for addressing homelessness.
  • Experience working with juvenile offenders and high-risk populations.
  • Proficiency in utilizing office technology and software relevant to juvenile rehabilitation.
