Job Overview - Facilities Maintenance Operations Manager

We are seeking a proactive leader to oversee all off-site clinic facilities, excluding those at the main campus. This role is essential for coordinating facility maintenance, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule routine preventative maintenance to ensure all tasks are completed as required.
  • Collaborate with the foundation office to manage VIP tours effectively.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance across extended campus locations.
  • Conduct regular visits to clinics to foster strong relationships with clinic managers and ensure quality assurance.
  • Perform walkthroughs of assigned areas and submit work orders as necessary.
  • Maintain and update all records related to the facilities in accordance with lease agreements.
  • Respond to offsite emergencies and coordinate appropriate responses.
  • Develop annual maintenance budgets for off-site locations and present them to clinic managers.
Maintenance Management:

This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance services and repairs, including plumbing, mechanical systems, general building upkeep, carpentry, painting, and critical space testing.

Project Management:
  • Manage minor to medium construction projects and negotiate contracts with vendors for various services.
  • Ensure all workmanship meets the highest standards and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide budget updates and status reports to the Director of Facilities.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Inspect the work of building maintenance technicians for quality and compliance.
  • Ensure the integrity and aesthetic appeal of the facility.
  • Collaborate with facility management personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Building Maintenance Program Management:
  • Oversee the Building Maintenance Program (BMP) and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor budgets, report variances, and identify solutions to address discrepancies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to support staff and direct reports.
Human Resources Management:
  • Assist in creating and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff to meet departmental objectives.
  • Provide expertise and support to building maintenance technicians as needed.
Organizational Leadership:
  • Communicate team goals and priorities in alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Develop budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Foster a productive and motivating work environment.

This role is vital in ensuring that all facilities operate smoothly and meet the high standards expected by Children's National Health System.
