Healthcare Reception Coordinator

The Healthcare Reception Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating patient interactions within a medical environment while managing essential administrative responsibilities for the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Interaction: Welcome patients both in person and via phone with professionalism.
- Appointment Management: Schedule patient visits in alignment with physician availability to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Intake Process: Guide new patients through intake documentation and clarify any queries regarding forms.
- Payment Processing: Handle financial transactions post-treatment efficiently.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Prior experience with AthenaOne or similar Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 is essential, particularly in Excel, Word, and Teams.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is required.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Strong organizational abilities, time management skills, and attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence to positively engage with patients experiencing concerns.
- Adept at gathering and interpreting clinical information.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Promptly address patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate with Medical Assistants regarding patient arrivals.
- Anticipate patient needs to alleviate anxieties and provide clear information.
- Maintain office supplies by forecasting needs and communicating with the lead.
- Collaborate with other members of the billing office as required.
- Achieve and surpass departmental goals and key performance indicators.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures in all job functions.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions on departmental improvements.
- Participate in evaluating reports and outcomes to align with departmental objectives.
- Propose innovative ideas and policies to enhance team performance.
- Take initiative on projects, conduct research, and follow through with actionable plans.
- Engage in problem-solving to develop effective solutions.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with corporate, departmental, and HR policies and procedures.
- Must possess visual and auditory acuity for effective communication.
- Ability to operate various office equipment, including PCs, copiers, and multi-line telephones.
- Occasional light lifting may be required, not exceeding 20 pounds.
- Work environment is primarily indoors with potential for some offsite travel.
