Position Summary:

The Program Manager for Specialized Foster Care is a licensed Social Worker responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to assigned social workers. This role may also involve offering clinical supervision or direct client services as necessary. The Program Manager plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of all foster care initiatives.

  • Supervise social workers and their assigned responsibilities.
  • Assist in aligning referrals with suitable families.
  • Generate reports in the Electronic Health Record system to ensure compliance with program standards.
  • Oversee case documentation, reports, and other records completed by assigned workers.
  • Train newly hired staff members.
  • Support foster parents in the placement of youth in care.
  • Participate as a leader in department and agency-wide training sessions and meetings.
  • Engage in on-call crisis management as the acting supervisor on a rotating schedule.
  • Possess knowledge of the Program Director's responsibilities and provide coverage during absences.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a relevant field.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Awareness of the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of clients served.
  • Experience with the foster care system and the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
  • Exhibit professionalism, maturity, self-awareness, and a non-judgmental attitude, along with the ability to manage resistance and rejection.
  • Cultural competency and the capacity to work independently under challenging circumstances.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
