Position Overview
Nuvance Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee the operations of our surgical services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead patient care initiatives, establishing standards for clinical practice and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  2. Maintain accountability for unit operations, ensuring continuous service delivery.
  3. Manage the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff, fostering a culture of professional development.
  4. Collaborate with management to set strategic goals and align departmental objectives with organizational mission.
  5. Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
  6. Oversee budgetary planning and resource allocation, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  7. Promote a culture of performance improvement, identifying opportunities for enhanced processes and outcomes.
  8. Develop and implement staffing plans to meet operational needs effectively.
  9. Assess staff retention and recognition strategies, addressing trends in turnover and employee satisfaction.
  10. Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration to support organizational objectives.
  11. Work with medical leadership to establish a cohesive model of care.
  12. Represent management in grievance procedures and compliance matters.
  13. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting. Current RN License is essential. Candidates should possess at least 4 years of recent experience in the designated clinical area, along with evidence of ongoing professional education.

Preferred: A Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field is advantageous. Relevant certifications such as BLS (HCP), ACLS, and others are preferred based on the clinical specialty.

Work Environment
This position requires significant manual dexterity and the ability to handle medium to heavy physical demands.
