Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated FFT (Functional Family Therapy) Family Specialist to join our dynamic team. The FFT Family Specialist plays a crucial role in providing tailored case management support and services to meet the diverse needs of children and foster parents. This position involves working closely with a Family Therapist and collaborating with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to ensure stability in foster homes and promote permanency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate as a member of the FFT FC team, delivering home-based services.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and interventions tailored to each family, focusing on safety planning and crisis management.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and model fidelity.
  • Utilize a strength-based relational approach when engaging with youth and families.
  • Address clinical needs through model-specific interventions.
  • Perform initial assessments, including referral reviews and relational analysis within families.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and promptly in electronic health records.
  • Facilitate supervised visitations while respecting cultural diversity and heritage.
  • Continuously assess engagement levels and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance participation.
  • Keep relevant parties informed of any elevated risks and attend family court proceedings as necessary.
  • Identify and connect families to community resources.
  • Participate in required training and supervision sessions.
  • Maintain an organized weekly schedule and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Network with DCF and community organizations.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in case management, coordinating care systems, and providing in-home services is preferred.
  • Knowledge in areas such as:
    • Home-Based Therapy
    • Family Systems Theory
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapies
    • Trauma-Informed Care
    • Understanding of racial disparities in behavioral health
    • Child Development and its implications for treatment
