Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead patient care initiatives by establishing and maintaining high standards of clinical practice within the surgical unit.
  2. Ensure continuous operational oversight of the unit, maintaining a 24/7 presence to address any issues that arise.
  3. Manage staffing processes including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to foster a skilled and motivated team.
  4. Collaborate with management to develop strategic goals that align with the organization's mission and enhance service delivery.
  5. Monitor patient satisfaction metrics and implement necessary improvements to enhance the patient experience.
  6. Oversee budgetary planning and management, ensuring financial resources are utilized effectively.
  7. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and evaluating performance enhancement initiatives.
  8. Design and implement staffing plans that meet operational needs while maintaining productivity standards.
  9. Evaluate staff retention strategies and recognition programs to improve workforce stability.
  10. Facilitate interdepartmental cooperation to achieve corporate objectives.
  11. Work with medical leadership to establish a collaborative care model within the unit.
  12. Represent management in union and non-union grievance processes as necessary.
  13. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting. Current RN License. A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in the designated clinical area is essential. Evidence of ongoing professional development is required.

Preferred: Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field. Certifications such as BLS (HCP), ACLS, and specialty certifications are advantageous.

Work Environment
This position involves significant manual dexterity and the ability to exert moderate to heavy physical effort. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various occupational conditions.
