Job Overview

The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the planning, organization, and management of the Environmental Services Department. This position ensures that the facility maintains a consistently clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish Standards: Develops and implements work procedures for staff in alignment with facility policies.
  • Schedule Coordination: Prepares and manages a comprehensive schedule for cleaning and laundry services throughout the facility.
  • Inventory Management: Orders supplies and equipment efficiently while maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Communication: Regularly shares important updates regarding Environmental Services activities with the team.
  • Resident Interaction: Coordinates resident transitions and promptly addresses requests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Safety Monitoring: Ensures that all work areas and equipment are kept clean and safe, adhering strictly to safety procedures.
  • Infection Control: Implements infection control measures and waste disposal procedures as required.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Collaborates with the maintenance department to address repair and service needs.
  • Leadership: Fosters a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution, while managing and mentoring staff.
  • Staff Management: Oversees recruitment, onboarding, and training of department employees, holding them accountable to performance standards.
  • Performance Reviews: Conducts evaluations and provides constructive feedback to team members, addressing any performance issues as necessary.
  • Staffing Levels: Ensures appropriate staffing to meet the operational needs of the facility.
  • Resident Relations: Maintains high standards of service to meet resident needs, building rapport and trust.
  • Attendance: Adheres to attendance requirements to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Task Completion: Follows directives and completes daily assignments proactively.
  • Compassion: Demonstrates understanding and empathy towards the elderly population.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience in Environmental Services or Hospitality Management is preferred.
