POSITION SUMMARY

We are in search of a proactive IT Project Coordinator to lead the deployment of IT infrastructure and vendor application services within our regulated sector. This position is crucial for ensuring the effective integration and support of technological solutions while complying with industry regulations and organizational standards. The successful candidate will have a combination of project management skills, leadership qualities, technical knowledge, and an understanding of regulatory frameworks in the racing and gaming industries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Guide, mentor, and inspire project team members, encouraging accountability and positive engagement in their tasks.
  • Promote awareness and appreciation for diverse viewpoints while effectively managing and resolving conflicts among cross-functional team members.
  • Ensure accountability across teams and make informed decisions regarding escalations when necessary.
  • Oversee comprehensive project management for the rollout of IT infrastructure and vendor application services within the gaming and racing sectors.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and convert them into actionable project strategies.
  • Create and uphold project schedules, financial plans, and resource distribution strategies.
  • Identify and manage project risks and challenges, applying mitigation tactics to secure project success.
  • Collaborate with vendors to acquire essential hardware, software, and services, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Supervise the setup, configuration, and testing of IT infrastructure elements, including network systems, servers, and security protocols.
  • Facilitate system testing and training sessions to guarantee a smooth transition of IT services into operational status.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation for reporting and accessibility purposes.
  • Track project progress and provide consistent updates to stakeholders, emphasizing key milestones and any deviations from the project plan.
  • Travel to project sites at critical phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of CDI IT PMO processes, tools, and templates.
  • May undertake additional projects as required.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to obtain racing and/or gaming licenses as mandated in any jurisdiction where CDI operates. The gaming sector is heavily regulated, necessitating a thorough background check to secure a license.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred; candidates should aim to obtain it within the first year if not currently certified.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in IT project management, ideally within the gaming industry or other regulated environments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure concepts, including networking, servers, storage, and security systems.
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies and implementing compliance measures in IT projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for task tracking, scheduling, and reporting (e.g., MS Project, KeyedIn).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in achieving results through others without direct authority.
  • Experience leading ERP implementations is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with lean/six sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of vendor application services commonly utilized in gaming facilities, such as player tracking systems, slot management software, and surveillance solutions is beneficial.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular use of a keyboard and mouse for typing and navigating software.
  • Viewing a computer screen for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to handle paperwork, including filing, sorting, and organizing.
  • Movement within the office environment to attend meetings, use office equipment, or interact with colleagues.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or paperwork (up to 20 pounds).
  • Effective communication with colleagues and clients in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing.
  • Working in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Performing repetitive tasks such as data entry or document preparation.
  • Working under artificial lighting conditions typical of an office environment, which may include fluorescent or LED lighting.
