Objective:

The LPX Group seeks a dedicated Project Manager to oversee various construction initiatives, including wastewater management, water treatment facilities, and streetscape projects. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are executed efficiently from start to finish, demonstrating exceptional leadership, meticulous planning, and robust financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Articulate and promote the project vision in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Inspire and guide project team members towards achieving project objectives.
  • Communicate effectively regarding project limitations and targets.
  • Uphold a high standard of professionalism throughout all interactions.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Manage construction projects by developing and maintaining a comprehensive project schedule, ensuring all parties are informed to facilitate timely completion.
  • Define project scope and conduct quantity takeoffs based on engineering documentation.
  • Establish subcontractor requirements and supplier scopes for review with management.
  • Evaluate submittals for compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Generate and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to relevant parties.
  • Conduct cost analysis on various construction methodologies.
  • Collaborate with field personnel to create detailed three-week look-ahead schedules.

Project Execution:

  • Continuously monitor projects to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee purchasing activities to guarantee quality materials are procured at competitive prices.
  • Manage change orders and assess inspector performance.
  • Coordinate with engineers and clients to address project challenges and develop solutions.
  • Review construction activities and provide support to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Work closely with Superintendents to ensure subcontractor work aligns with project specifications.
  • Implement project policies and procedures with subcontractors.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee project costs and maintain profitability.
  • Prepare monthly cost-to-complete reports for management review.
  • Ensure positive cash flow for all projects.
  • Provide monthly sales projections for the duration of each project.

Technical Expertise:

  • Conduct regular inspections to assess work progress and quality.
  • Possess a solid understanding of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical construction practices.
  • Support safety initiatives and assist in addressing safety concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role managing projects valued between $1 million and $10 million.
  • Experience as a Foreman or Superintendent is advantageous.
  • Estimating experience is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (MS Office Suite, Primavera, AutoCAD, Vista).
